David Raju

Group Chief Information Officer

David Raju serves as Angel Oak’s Group Chief Information Officer and is responsible for information technology and digital transformation initiatives across all divisions of Angel Oak.

David joined Angel Oak in 2021, bringing over 20 years of banking and payments experience in both the US and Canada. He was previously the Founder & CEO of Covience, which provided Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and advisory services to financial institutions and payment providers until its acquisition by Angel Oak. Prior to Covience, David was a Senior Vice President at Desjardins Group, where he built and launched a digital bank with deposit-taking, mortgage and consumer lending capabilities. Under David’s leadership as its President and CEO, the bank scored major firsts with digital account opening and targeted marketing, combined with leading-edge analytics for compliance and risk.

Prior to Desjardins Group, David served as the Chief Technology & Operations Officer for Ally Financial in Canada. He was previously responsible for developing and managing the Canadian business model, which required streamlining the legacy mortgage business and expanding into automotive financing under a federal bank charter. Prior to joining Ally US in 2004, David filled progressively senior roles in mortgage banking.

David earned an M.B.A. in Corporate Finance and an M.S. in Information Assurance from the University of Dallas. His education also includes Committee on National Security Systems Standards.
